Shanghai Garment Machinery Mart was named by Shanghai Municipal Committee of Commerce as a trade market for garments, garment machineries (woven and knitted) and second-hand machineries. The market covers a total area of 47 Hektares with 600,000 square meters of construction area, which after being finished will be a large-size integrated market that comprises of manufacturing, logistics, trade, information, exhibition and research of garment machineries.

The Shanghai Garment Machinery Mart project under construction is located at Fengjing Town of Jinshan District, Shanghai and contains 730 Mu with 2500 booths, of which 1372 will be finished during the first-phase project. After being finished, the whole project will be the largest professional market for garment machineries in the world. The project has won enthusiastic support from various governmental departments and industry associates. Mr. Wang Chengkang, Vice Director of China Sewing Equipment Association has shown his presence in organization of advertising activities. Since the sale release, more than 100 companies have come to purchase booths, including Shanggong Group, Brother Standard, Guyi, Baoyu, Hebei Changli, Tianjiao, Jiangnan Industrial Sewing Machine, Meibao, Shunfa Sewing Machine, Henxin Sewing Machine, Desheng, etc.. The market has not only shopping booths like those in malls, but also several-floored unit for both offices and living apartments, and in that case the ground floor is used as exhibition booth while the second and the third floors are used as apartment, office or warehouse. Each floor covers 45.6 square meters and the three floors covers 136.8 square meters totally.

According to the industrial and market layout of Shanghai City, Shanghai will try to establish the sixth fashion center in the world and in Fengjing Town as an experimental urban town and one of the “One City Nine Towns” project of Shanghai, the Shanghai International Garment Machinery Trade City will be a spotlight during this process and its future plans.

Shanghai International Garment Machinery Trade City under development and construction during the first-period will include construction area of 200,000 square meters, which will be further constituted by Garment Machinery Exhibition Center, Research and Development Center, Training Center, Administration Center, Logistics Center and Second-hand Machinery Trade Center, which will make it the largest leading trading center for garment machineries in China and even in the world.

Fengjing Town is located in southwest Jinshan District of Shanghai, neighboring Jiangsu and Zhejiang, which grant it great geographical advantages.

The market is closely neighboring Shanghai-Hangzhou Expressway, Zhu-Feng Road, No. 320 National Expressway and there is also the Light Rail Transit leading to the urban area. It is 70 km away from Shanghai Downtown, 58 km from Hongqiao Int'l Airport, 100 km from Pudong Int'l Airport, 110 km from Hangzhou Int'l Airport and 100 km away from Suzhou City.

The four key roads of Shanghai-Hangzhou Expressway, Shanghai-Hangzhou Railway, No. 320 National Expressway, Zhu-Feng Road run through the town center and in addition water transportation is also very convenient here. Usually it takes only 40 minutes to get to Shanghai downtown, 35 minutes to Hongqiao Int'l Airport, and 50 minutes to Pudong Int'l Airport. Furthermore, the Light Rail Transit (R4 Line) as the development Layout project of Shanghai City will connects Fengjing Town directly with Shanghai, so the prosperity future of International Garment Machinery Town is quite obvious.

The market adopts steel structure and each booth is 3.8M in width, 12 M in depth,4.5M height of the first floor and 3.3M in height of second and third floors. Average coverage is 45.6 square meters for each floor, totally 136.8 square meters for the whole unit.

The city will establish a sewage treatment works with daily capability of 15,000 tons.

The city will establish two 35KW electric substations, providing electricity of 10KV, 380V and 220V.

Cable network coverage will be 100% and IP Internet access will be established. Telephone switchboard will provide access to 20,000 numbers. In addition, the city has a mid-pressure gas pressure regulating station, which can produce 27,660,000 CBM of gas each year.
